Our other species
The key species we schedule our harvests around are listed here, but Horizon Seaweed is licensed to pick 17 different varieties of seaweed. While this includes larger seaweeds that can only be gathered on the strongest spring tides (e.g. tangle, Laminaria hyperborea), there are many smaller species on our harvest sites than cannot be produced at commercial volumes (e.g. Irish moss, Chondrus crispus; pepper dulse, Osmundea pinnatifida; laver/nori, Porphyra). Months of wild harvest seaweed production
Samples available to you from our archiveWe have developed a detailed knowledge of harvest seasons. Specifically, it may be possible to pick small quantities of a variety early in a season, but we delay first harvest until the rates reach commercial scale. Indicative seasons for our key species are given below. Please contact us if you would like to learn more about production months.
